I was supposed to do research exchange in Cardiology department in small city called Ismailia but the first thing my LORE asked me was that if I wanted to do professional exchange in Internal departmen instead. The reason was that they didn't have any reasonable research projects for foreigners. So that might have been the greatest difference. The university hospital was also quite different than ours. I really notised that I was in developing country because the conditions were quite poor. We had to take our things with us in the hospital and change white coats outside.

I was supposed to be in research exchange in PCR, but when I arrived to Cairo, I found out that they had cancelled all the research programs. So I was placed in professional exchange in tropical medicine. The hospital was Ain Shams Public Hospital, a huge place with dozens of buildings.

I was supposed to be in research exchange in the Egypt one month last June. But when I arrived to Assiut, the city where I lived, I found out that they had cancelled the research program, because my tutor of reseach program was sick. So they but me in pediatric department to do clinikal exchange. The hospital was situated in Assiut university area. Pediatric hospital was new and rather modern, it looked like hospital in Finland. In pediatric hospital there is many different kind of units, and I tried to visit all of those. I spent most time in Neonatal unit and Intensive care unit.
