Nyborg 2005

In July 2005, I spent two weeks on preclinical exchange in Denmark with my friend. The city, Nyborg, was very small, so it was really good thing that we could go there together. Nyborg is located in the island of Fyn and it takes about 30 minutes by train to Odense, which is the third biggest city of Denmark. We "worked" daily in the surgical department. The hospital itself was rather small and we heard that especially July is very little with action. I think the hospital was quite much the same as smaller hospitals in Finland too.

When we left to Denmark

Aalborg 2005

I spent the two weeks of FiMSIC preclinical exchange in Denmark, Aalborg. Aalborg is situated in Northern Jutland and it is the fourth biggest town of Denmark. My department at the hospital was orthopaedic surgery.

Kolding 2006

I was doing my preclinical clerkship in Kolding, a beautiful town in the south part of Jylland in Denmark. I flew to Copenhagen, and then I had to take a train to Kolding. My contact person had sent me a letter in which she gave me some advise like what bus I should take in Kolding. There was also a quite good map of Kolding and a tourist information guide. The journey by train took over two hours and it was quite nasty, because I didn't have realised that I should also book a seat. The train was so full and it was nearly 30 degrees of Celsius

Kööpenhamina 2006

I spent two weeks in Copenhagen and attended the preclinical clerkship at RASK Hospital (Roskilde Amts Sygehus i Køge) at the Otolaryngology department. The hospital was rather small but still big enough to offer something interesting to see every day.

Since I hadn´t had any clinical courses and I didn´t know much about this speciality I was mainly just watching. All the doctors were very kind and helpful and always willing to explain and answer my questions.
