I did my cardiology elective in the University Of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. It's a city of about 1,000,000 people. I was supposed to work on a cardiology ward all the time but I wanted to experience other aspects of cardiology, too. So after asking permission from my supervisor I got to work also on CCU and in emergency room altogether for a week and a half. 

 

I worked at the Stroke Prevention and Atherosclerosis Research Center, S.P.A.R.C.. It’s part of Robarts Institute which is a research center by the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. Robarts Institute is a big multifield research center and the S.P.A.R.C. is just a small part of it. However, they have published many articles and had several projects going on so I would assume that a Finnish version of the S.P.A.R.C. is smaller.
